Something that occurred to me when reading your other thread in Mod Ideas - weren't the Fey'ri imprisoned somewhere until recently? When did they escape? Was it before the BG2 storyline, or did Fade escape alone?

;-) Information about the Fey'ri was very, very scarce until recently (and I'll be honest - I didn't know about half of it!) I knew they had been sealed in and then over time forgotten until the seals degraded - I had assumed that had happened a little while ago since it is known who their ruler is (Countess Sarya Dlardrageth) and they (at the time I read it) were actually coming to be a bit of a threat again. Fade was involved in one of the early (and very tentative) search parties looking for items of wealth and power to bolster the Fey'ri - instead the leader of the party turns on her and sells her into slavery to get her out of his hair (its all explained in the mod, and I don't want to post too many spoilers!)

I knew that some of what I've written would eventually clash with the canon material, simply because the canon material wasn't originally there, so there is a slight suspension of belief if the dates are a bit wonky (but nine times out of ten even the canon material doesn't agree with itself, so I tend to do what my DM does - suit meself!!!)

Heh, I've been told that the entire BG storyline itself is not really in conjunction with the Realms timeline. I consider it nitpicking, really. As long as the rest of the story is consistent and well done, I don't care about these kind of tiny details.

Right, but when was it they escaped? My question wasn't a nitpick, I was actually wondering *when* it was.

They did escape their imprisonment.

They are now free in Faerun.

My question was, was this before or after the BG2 date?

:-D  I'll look it up - not sure if the actual year is in my FR rulebook (it may well be - they are mentioned in there ;-) ) - hang on!

Okay - The Hellgate was eventually destroyed in the Year of the Gauntlet 1369 DR and the Fey'ri were all finally freed then (slight conflict in the canon stuff... one source describes all of House Dlardrageth as half-fiends, and the other describes them as a mixture of Fey'ri and half-fiends... one also implies that House Dlardrageth was freed before the Hellgate was destroyed ('the remaining Fey'ri then joined House Dlardrageth'.) Depending on what source you go with depends on whether you believe a few got out from time to time, or that House Dlardrageth was indeed 'working from the outside in'... its all a bit subjective, though).

First BG takes place in 1368... BG2 a couple of years (?) later... okay, I'm a bit out (Fades supposed to have been around out of Hellgate for about 5 years. I suppose this is one of the problems converting 3ed to 2ed rules and applying it to a an old game!  :-D

Ubernerd has also just informed me that the dates for some events have changed... *sigh* Never, ever going to make life easy, that! Bit like daylight saving hours, I suppose... I must admit, I have noticed discrepancies between the 2ed and the 3ed timeline myself (don't hate me for getting it wrong! Me just writing monkey! :D )

EDIT: Found out a bit more! Threlya Dlardrageth, fey'ri scout, outside Evereska, 1371 DR - a member of the House is also a member of the Eldreth Veluuthra, a bunch of human hating elves and current owner of Tar'Ael Veluuthra, or "Whetstone of the Victorious Blade" (a spell book written by one of the Eldreth Veluuthra). So Fey'ri were most definitely out and about, causing mischief come 1371 DR.

There are now - once upon a time there were none (apart from the Monsters of Faerun information - that is all I had to go on for ages!)

Honestly, I must admit I never even considered the timeline, which is a bit bad of me. I just wanted a Fey'ri character so much, and my DM wouldn't let me play one (so you can blame him for all this nonsense - if he had given in and let me roleplay her properly, the chances are Fade may never even have made it here!!)

Then in that case i should thank him cause we all got an amizing npc to play whit :D and a litle miss info is ok I said it before and ill say it again the rules break themself so why shouldnt we band them from time to time when it could resulte in a great npc like fade:-D
