The Shop in Lathander Temple RES

I just installed Dark Ritual and I went to check out the store and the merchant immeadly casted all these protection spells and summoned 4 pit fiends. Is this supposed to happen or is there a conflict? I do have other mods installed, namely BP I suppose DR may not yet be compatible

So does that mean yes shes supposed to be doing that? I thought she was just supposed to sell me stuff?? And the Lathanderites don't mind her summoning up pit fiends in their temple?

She has no reason to go hostile on you unless you attacked here. I don't think her script even has the spells for summoning pit fiends.

She didn't go hostile but she definatly summoned up pit fiends! She does it as soon as I enter the place, she yells something about me manipulating her and just starts casting away. I'm just thinking it's a compatibitly problem with her and BP.

Something must have went wrong. She has no summon pit fiend ability in any of her scripts or any memorized spells. If anything she would have summoned would be Mordenkainens Swords. Plus she has no hostile dialogues. The only dialogues she has are store related or forge related. I don't know why it wouldn't be BP or any other mod compatible since I only add my own stuff under my naming convention so nothing is over writen or changed.

I fixed it! I reinstalled BG2 and now the DR works just fine no more pit fiends!!

That's good to hear but to bad you had to reinstall everything for whatever problem caused this to begin with.

I had the very same problem and noticed that the spells she uses against me are demilich abilities. I have more than 30 mods installed, so cannot be sure which causes the problem. I would have to say that its' probably the "Improved kagaax and Guards" from the tactics mod, but until I check it(by uninstalling that mod part) I can't be sure.

I did uninstal and instal the whole BG2 from the beginning, but had the exact same problem. Another strange thing is that if you try talking to her, her dialog is the correct one and you can buy stuff. It's just that when you get back to the game world that she starts throwing spells to you.

Did you happen to finish the Kangaxx quest before talking to her? I'm trying to narrow down what the problem could be here now that more then one person has this issue.

Sorry, for the delay in replying i was offtown for two days. Anyway, the problem was fixed for me when I removed the Improved Kangaax mod. I hadn't even got near to being able to face Kangaax (in a non-cheesy fashion that is), so no i had't completed the quest yet. I can re-install the Improve Kangaax and check it out , but it might take some time.

The tactics mod causes a lot of problems with other mods. You mention over 30 mods installed? How many of thoese are betas and what are they?

Well I had Tatics as well I think but not this time... It could be that I need to do a new game I'm not sure *sigh* I'm always messing with these mods I can't seem to keep myself to just one and stick with it lol. I'm a damn fiddler

Edit: Horred confirmed that Improved Kagnaxx was built into BP from the Tattics mod.

This probable problem was based on Version 9x. Any other problems persist with 1.00 make a new post.
