Quote
Well, as you know, last week I released my new MiniMOD Freedom's Reign. This little MiniMOD adds over 80 new and improved Items and spreads them throughout the entire game using edited Stores and Creatures, and some completely new Characters are added to some of the maps. It only weighs in at a mere 46kb, and is well worth downloading if you like your Items.
September 2, 2001 TeamBG.com is no longer publically accessible.
Quote
You must register for the forums to get in. This has meant that in less than 2 days more than 700 new people have joined, as opposed to 30 per day previously. So many people are joining the forums that the server has been bogged down, so we apologize in advance for any slow service you may receive.
Note: Forum being used as the "website" era.
September 5, 2001 TeamBG.com reopens to the public.
Quote
After a weekend or so of incredible numbers of people trying to register to the TeamBG.com site/forum, we are now reopening the site/forum to the public (as before).

Basically, the forum software we use (YaBB) has a few bugs that seem to amplify in magnitide with over 400 members per day for 3 days registering. So, to keep such problems from being so bad and affecting server performance we have decided to reopen the site/forum for public perusal. Membership to the forums is still required for posting and replying, as before.

Also of note is the "evaluation" in place for a qualifying step in being able to gain access to downloading IEEP. This measure is in place still. Note that the purpose of this "evaluation" is that of education. There are far too many people using IEEP to damage the multiplayer experience of other people and twisting its use into something it was never intended for. TeamBG.com and our tools are first and foremost made for the purpose of creating game MOD's (modifications or modules) and total conversions (completely new games). Anything other than this is not the intended use of our tools and is a waste of peoples' time if you post on our forums trying to figure out how to make a spell, item, script or creature to aide you in unbalanced game play in multiplayer and not utilizing our tools and time for creating the large scale projects TeamBG.com is all about.

Please realize that if you are too far off on the answers to these questions you will appear to be a player-killer type and get automatically added to the ban list data file for the TeamBG.com site/forum.

After a very interesting test and introduction period for this strategy in trying to influence how our tools are used, educate people (or get them to educate themselves by getting them to actually read our FAQ), and salvage our own reputation after being called the force behind the destruction of online multiplayer gaming in IE games, I will let you know how the scoring works in general:

    * 0 to 3 points = You answered all the questions in a way that you are obviously familiar with the goals and facts around the TeamBG.com community. You "PASS" and get the file you are after.
    * 4 to 11 points = You are not fully knowledgable of TeamBG.com and should spend some more time getting to know TeamBG.com by reading our FAQ and perhaps the areas of the forum that interest you. You "FAILED" but can always retake the evaluation (note immediately retaking is not advised as you will simply be guessing...go read...find the answers) and you still have full access to the TeamBG.com site/forum.
    * 12 or more points = You fail miserably and are likely not paying any attention to the evaluation and think its a joke or are a player-killer type in online multiplayer. You get auto-banned from the TeamBG.com site/forum at this time.

You must realize that you never get shown your score and you cannot know what questions have been answered improperly, that is until you take the time to go familiarize yourself with TeamBG.com and our FAQ and smack yourself in the forehead for realizing the correct answer to one or two of the questions.

This evaluation is NOT something I take lightly and is only in response to what has happened to online multiplayer due to some peoples' access to our tools and knowledge on our site. Thank them for these measures. As I already said, this is primarily to educate our users.

Covers 2002

January 24th, 2002 IAP SFX Creator v1.0 released.
January 24th, 2002 TeamBG sites... (Move off DB-Forge.com)
Quote
As many already know, all sites that TeamBG runs have moved and are no longer hosted at db-forge.com (a telefragged.com site).  This is partly due to the occasional server outages and domain expiration issues, but also (and mostly) due to the fact that 3ddownloads.com (their file downloads server) has been practically unuasable continuously for about the last 4 months.

I moved parts of TeamBG to paid hosting as my only and last option, and due to this move the rest of our sites were deleted from their servers and I was accused of doing something wrong by seeking paid hosting solutions to keep TeamBG and our files accessible to our fans.

So, now all sites (TeamBG.com, TeamBG.org (now part of TeamBG.com), DSotSC.com and the site for The Darkest Day) that are managed by the TeamBG staff are on paid hosting and our large files (the mods we agreed to host (DSotSC and TDD)) will have primary hosting, for the downloads, at FilePlanet.  The latest versions of the DSotSC files will be up at FilePlanet soon.

Quote
Okay, this is a game launcher designed to replace the game launcher you normally get when laucnhing an IE game from its installed shortcut (baldur.exe for BG1 and BG2).  The idea is to further customize these games, especially in light of large mods and even more for the new games (total conversions) being made.

Additionally, I have also added an Updater to this launcher which works very similarly to the updater in the NWN launcher that verifies your game/mod version patches your game if its needed (it doesn't delete the patch like the NWN one does though, hehe).

July 07, 2003 STO Editor ( Store Editor )
Quote
MindFlayer is at it again, this time he has made a new .STO editor which is able to edit and create stores for all of the Infinity Engine games.

The utility is easy to use and has a pretty good Graphical User Interface, which quickly makes the user feel "home".

More importantly does it allow for quick convertion between the games.
July 16, 2003 IWD2 CRE/CHR Editor
Quote
Mindflayer, our latest TeamBG member, has been working hard on a new editor for Icewind Dale 2 editors out there.

This editor allows editing of Creatures (.CRE) and Characters (.CHR) from Icewind Dale 2. It does not allow editing of the other Infinity Engine games however.
July 18, 2003 BAMWorkshop II released.
August 05, 2003 BAMWorkshop 2 Update + New Plugin.
Quote
Just a quick message to say a small BAMW2 update (v1.01) is available along with a new plugin (to apply a uniform centre across all the frames of a BAM) from my page.

Please note that if you have installed the batch BAM compressor/decompressor plugin, you will need to update this too. It is in the same download as BAMW2 so this shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

June 9 2004 ModList, your resource for links to released mods.
Quote
In case you had not noticed, a new link has appeared in the left-side navigation of the TeamBG website. The new link goes to the all new ModList web site. This site allows players and modders to (hopefully) easily find out what IE mods are released and where to find them. Additionally, I have recently added support for mod reviews. You can read reviews others have posted or post mod reviews for mods you've played so that others can see your feedback. No spoilers in reviews please. wink.gif

So go check it out and post any needed or wanted features for the ModList site on our General Discussion board in our forum.

I already plan to, in some way, highlight/feature the most recent 3 or 5 reviews posted and mod links posted, as well as possibly adding a broken link (or link needs changed) feedback feature.

Enjoy!
Note: Before PPG TeamBG had the list.
July 15-18? 2004 TeamBG went down for good.

December 28, 2001
On December 26, 1998, Baldur's Gate was released in the U.S.A. Two days later Ken Baker released the first version of a character editor for Baldur's Gate, and began what became "TeamBG" a few weeks later.
So, today marks 3 years of TeamBG following 2 days after the 3 year anniversary of the release of the first Infinity Engine game to ever be released.
I'd like to thank the entire IE editing/modding community for keeping the dream alive and thriving now more than ever. As IE games get older, each week our hits go up more and more and the successes of creating new IE gaming elements and games becomes more and more a reality.

Happy Birthday TeamBG!!!

teambg.net and teambg.com domains left Ken's possession in 2005/2006.

2005/2006- present in the hands of evil cyber squatting  profiteers.

teambg.org came into my possession, at a great expense, in 2006.
