A comment about Ninafer.

A comment that came from Gamebanshee

Quote from: Silvanerian

As to the 3 NPCs I enquired to, I have now run two thirds of SoA with Ninafer. She's nicely done. Not overly talkative, but with enough dialogue for my tastes.
Her sound is nice.
Power wise, she has low HP due to low con and average HP rolls (the belt of fortitute is good at mitigating this issue though), but on the other hand has an unremovable ring which grants her 50% magic resistance and +2 level 5 spells and +1 level 6 spells, making her rather powerful, but not more so than Edwin or Hear Dalis...

I like Ninafer due to:
1) She's an elf.
2) She's hot.
3) Great voicing.
4) She has a mission in life.
5) She's not another overpowered, overtalking, bisexual multikiller.
6) She likes Anomen.
7) She likes other elves.
8 ) She's hot.

What I miss:

1) Crossmod content with Xan & Kivan.

Comment about Ninafer.

Just wanted to report that this very fine mod works beautifully with BGII - SoA/ToB under Mac OS X. I have yet to get a game to function properly and take it into ToB, but that's due to issues with some other mods. I'll make a point of including Ninafer in a party that goes into ToB, though, just to be thorough.

I like every aspect of this mod, and will recommend it to anyone who asks what mods to install for maximum enjoyment :) Now, we need some crossmod interaction with some of the other characters...

Happy gaming,
Eric

Comments about Callisto.

I don't know if this is the best thread to post this but I have finished a game with Callisto.
First of all I really enjoyed her.  And I enjoyed the overpowered items at some points.  It was nice to have them when a not-so-good player as me really runs into trouble.

I also liked her attitude and personality.  She's driven and seemed really "real" to me.  I also enjoyed the surprise little "encounters" she had.  Teach me to just wander blindly without paying attention!   ;D

Only bummer is that I thought she would stay with me until Hell.  But she didn't.  Maybe it was posted that she would have to "depart" earlier but the last thing I recalled her was supposedly being with you until Hell.  Heck, she couldn't even bother to help me with those blasted golems in the elven city???  That really sucked.  I was relying on her strength as she was my only real fighter.

But overall I loved this mod and once the joining up with the other 2 are done I can't wait to play again.  Thanks for a really enjoyable yet pitiable character.  She was interesting.

Oh yeah...more banters if possible!  I would LOVE to hear from her more.   :)

Thanks for the comments. This is the type of thing that motivates me to work on these mods.

Once I get the next version done, putting it back together the way I envisioned it many years ago, there will be some banters with Ninafer. They have a history together, they just don't know it.

I was going to have her part in Hell but her "leaving" dialog would not go off after trying various ways. I had to settle for the next thing that is near the end of SoA.

I am glad that she seemed real. That is something I tried to convey when I wrote her dialogs. I used my own pent up rage and placed myself in her situation to get those results.

Well, putting yourself in her place worked well at conveying her feelings realistically.  Also, I didn't realize you couldn't keep her for Hell due to technical issues.  Sorry I complained!  You couldn't help it.  Well, at least my party was still pretty powerful when I got to the elven city.  I just had to use more summons that's all!
The ONLY good thing about her being SOA only was that she left a natural opening for Saravok in TOB.  Anyway, again, nice job and thanks for the fun!  I am looking forward to your combines.   :)

Finished the undying mod a few days ago; so its still fresh on my mind-heres my initial review.  Calisto was spot on-you did a great job capturing her onscreen persona for a bg2 npc-kudos! I can pick her up fairly quick in the game and shes pretty easy to intigrate in a party.  Descent fighter/tank type and fits well in evil or good party.   Only 2 complaints on her-the +4 sword she starts with is a tad powerful for soa-initally anyways; if your open to suggestions, I would say tone it down to a +2 sword with fire damage or such; with an option to upgrade later.  Other complaint isnt really her fault but a game mechanic--I went with an all evil group combo--but Calisto wont work with Viconia(the only evil healer I can find).  Hmm we need more evil npcs who can heal I guess.  Ninifer was good -I kinda used her more as a mage though then the fighter side.  I saw some of the romance between her and Anomen (which I normally dont use-he bugs the heck out of me), but it seemed to putter out in tob-maybe a bad download.  the extra inn just north of the copper coronet was kewl-I have one question though --inside it is a chest with an unopenable lock-I looked high and low all throughout the game and never found a key-did I miss something obvious?  Anyhoo-overall=Excellent mod and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to spice up their bg2 experience!

I've played this mod through several iterations and the content added, particularly for Callisto, is very well done.

A slight nitpick would be that in v2, the Vampire Hunter longsword, a +5 sword with d4 fire damage AND protection from level drain when equipped, is basically just laying around in the lair of a weak enemy - a new party can basically just go and pick it up.  I'd recommend moving it somewhere tougher in v3.  Also, Callisto starting with Boots of Haste seems a little much, given her other magic items.

But like I said that's a nitpick - the story line for her is very well done.  Looking forward to v3.

From Midnight

Quote
Number 7&6. NINAFER AND CALLISTO -by Solaufein at Chosen of Mystra(CoM). Part of the Undying Mod, Ninafer is an elven fighter/mage multiclass -provides a stable seconday tank/caster with fair stats and background story. Callisto though stole the show and rank 6 spot though by being friggin bad ass. Uses voice clips from the Xena tv show, she is protrayed here in the bg2 world as much the same evil villian she was in Xena -an evil warlord. She mysteriously decides to follow the main charector around on his/her quests and can be picked up very early in the game. Shes a fighter -beserker subclass and can work with good or evil parties (try her with aerie if you really want to have fun). I wont give away spoilers but she will give you a fun bg2 experience and unexpected ending to her story. Callisto suffers one drawback you need to know about-she hates drow. She wont work with any drow npc at all-keep that in mind when makeing a party. Both npcs are part of the undying mod, which is very bug free, gives new shopkeepers, items, quests, and encounters. I highly recommend this mod even if you dont like the 2 npcs. SoA content only atm I believe.
