Are these not supposed to have the "N" at the end? Should I abbreviate mine, or not?
(I'm sorry for asking so many questions...)

The N is eliminated from John so the file name won't be any longer than 8 characters.
In progress - Armin Kasun - a mercenary NPC for BG2

On hold - Halbo NPC for BG2, the evil halfling thief, food critic, and party troublemaker

All IE file names must be 8 characters or less. That goes for dialogue file names, scripts, cutscenes, chapter screens, item names, creature file names, BAMs, portrait file names, and any other ones you can think of.

For future reference, global variables must be 32 characters long or less, though shorter variables are better, and local variables must be 24 characters or less. DV's must be 32 characters or less as well, though it's recommended that they don't exceed 18 characters to allow for adding SPRITEISDEAD. Since you're going to be typing it a lot, though, it's advisable to keep DVs shorter.

In other words, keep it simple especially your DV, Death Variable. Since just about every dialog you will crate will have your characters DV in it.

Per me si va nell eterno dolore.
Per me si va tra la perduta gente...
