If you are playing multiplayer do you need to have the same mods on both games?
Many Many pretties... piled high beyond the sky. (Sigh)

You! Do I know you? No, I don't know anyone! Back! Bad Dog! Play Dead!

Ooh this face is boring, now I'm...

Shut up! No more questions! Make an appointment! The Coordinater speaks to no one! No one... speaks the Coordinator...

You go do that, and try to relax. The warden will be by soon enough. Then cookies.

I've heard arguments for both 'yes' and 'not necessarily', but I have always ensured that both systems have the same mods (and patches!) installed in the same order just to avoid any hassle.

You can sometimes get away with not having the same mods, but it's not worth bothering unless you know exactly what you're doing.

It should be noted that the majority of the time, I don't in fact know what I'm doing. :)

Hey, that's music to my ears. I just stumble along, screwing things up. My choices become reload and replay or just live with the blunder.

It's more fun if you do, but it's usually not necessary. It can give some strange situations though.

For instance if you have the Unfinished Business mod, and the other person hasn't, then you'll see new lines and new options, while the other person just sees the normal lines and options. But that is usually not a problem (and kinda funny) if you know about it. :P

If you've installed an NPC then you'll see that person in the normal way, while the other person just sees Biff the Understudy. Not really much fun for that person, so just don't take that NPC with you if you play MP together. ;-)

There are some mods that do cause problems, like the flirt pack mod. If only one of you have installed it, and you're romancing a BioWare NPC, then there is a high chance that the other person gets thrown out of the game every time that NPC flirts, or you flirt with that NPC. This can, however, be fixed by not romancing one of those NPCs. :-D

You could say that the amount of trouble more or less depends on how much the mod changed the game. And if you can ignore the mod while in the game (like everything related to NPC's).

Greetings. :-D

I am a newby here, but a Pro at MP in the BG Series.
there are a few mods that conflict and cause problems so it is important to look at the Read Mes.    Fantasy is also an expert, but she learned most of what she knows from me. :D  Good hunting.  :-)

*starts to laugh*

About MP: yes, :P about the game (with or without mods): no. ;-) :D

But I admit that most of my previous post was based on our MP experiences. :-D
