Crash landing.
« on: March 27, 2008, 11:52:07 PM »
After arriving at the entrance to the monestary and speaking with the guard my character attempts to enter the complex itself. The game them saves, but before it can load the game crashes.

Has anyone else experianced this? If so, have you found the cause of the issue?

I had the same problem, unfortunately no solution as of yet. Its a shame as it sounds like a good blackguard mod

Damn it I'm having the same problem!  I really want to play this but I can't.  Is there maybe a CLUA area code we can put in to reach Rylorn???

Same thing here.  Maybe some will come eventually to tell what to do. :)

Rather troubling. A new and seemingly great NPC mod released, and he's basically unplayable. Wasn't it tested?

Where's the author, anyway? Did he leave? :(

The frustrating thing for some of us is that some others HAVE played him. But a few of us can't and you are right, Moongaze II.  I wonder if the modder left.  I have a game just hanging there because I wanted to pick him up early on but the CTD's are just maddening.  I'm hoping a successful player may have some advice.  I don't know enough about files and such and wonder if there is a area code that we can clua into and out of or something like that????  ???

I get no error message.  This occurs when entering a new area, the dark monastery, I believe, and as soon as I try I and some others get the game auto-saving and then the CTD every time.  Thanks for dropping by!  Maybe we can get to the bottom of this with your help.

An area related problem, could be a corrupted area or something was not assign to it correctly. Immediate CtDs when entering an area with no errors is usually an area problem. I'll have to download it and take a look.

Has anyone who has played this actually been able to enter the new areas of this mod?

My understanding of areas, the two Baldur's Gate games use Name Region for doors and Name of destination entrance followed by Area ref. Example:

Under Name Region would be: Door(area number)
Name of destination: Exit(area number)
Area ref: (Full area name like AR0450.)

The areas of this mod don't follow this format. A very good reason why it would crash immediately since the game is confused on what to do.

Guys I really apologize for causing so much problems but i had no time to fix this until now.
The problem was rather trivial. Transition between areas was misspelled entrance name. Entrance should be M002 but was only M02 and not existing entrances cause crash.

So what do we do?  CLUA it in?  Sorry for being such a pc dumbass.  Or are you going to provide a downloadable patch?
I can't wait to try this guy out!
