Some questions
« on: November 08, 2007, 03:00:37 AM »
1. Why only evil can pick him, why not neutral?
2. Could you post some screenshots (new areas, new items)?
3. Is it comatibile with virue mod? will he also check for virtue not for reputation (if virtue mod installed later)
4. How many quests does he have (are they of type ''bring Item to get money'' or are they directly connected with Rylorn?)
5. what about compatibility with SCSII mod from g3, it also has component smarter mages.
6. Could you consider allowing some non-bioware Good aligned NPCs to join? Amber comes to mind, she is chaotic good thief/fighter. If she is already in party Rylorn will not join the party, but if I change her alignemnt with scroll it should work, right?

I suggest you advertise your mod on some other bg2 forums (like ppg or g3) :)

1.
Only Evil characters may pick him up because everyone else is a potential threat. He does not trust anyone, and if the protagonist is Evil then He is inclined to do less harm.

2. I was thinking about that, but decided not to.
Why?
Well because I personally despise spoilers. If someone is truly interested, He/She will play anyway and find out.

3. He is compatible with the Virtue Mod. But He is scripted only to respond to a Reputation. That means only when your reputation hits 13 He will attack.

4. Currently He has 3 SoA quests, and 1 ToB.
No, they are not bring an Item to get money type quests. First one is to kill all the Paladins from the Radiant Heart, the second one is a trial, and final the third one SoA quest is to find out what exactly plagues the Monastery. (Only in chapter 6).
ToB one is directly connected to him, but it is not exactly the quest, but rather a decision that protagonist has to make.
SoA quests are not directly connected to him because He is a member of The Dark Monastery and all quests are directed to Monastery instead.

5.Every component that includes smarter mages of any kind must be installed before this Mod.

6. You do not understand how it works. Every non-Bioware NPC may join the Party. Only SoA good characters except Aerie and Imoen can not. He is not scripted to respond to an alignment of specific NPC, but NPC in general. There is no code that tells If good character joined than attack or something like that.
So, if you want to Have Amber in your party along with him, you are free to do so.

Thank you. I will certainly do so, but currently I have no time to do something like that.

1. How dialogue heavy is he?
2. Will he socialise at all with the main character or is he more of a lone wolf who is only interested in spreading evil?

He has his own problems, so He is not about to socialize with the main character. He is focused on his own vision how he suppose to achieve certain things.

The readme says this mod isn't compatible with bigger mods like Darkest Day. Does that also include the newer Weidu versions of such mods? On that topic, is this mod compatible with most weidu mods out there?

This mod is not compatible with any version of TDD or any mods for that matter. It is compatible with the most weidu mods however.

ok, I'll probably hate myself for this, but where is the Dark Monastery and how do I get there? The readme says something about the Adventurers' mart but when I go there I don't see anything unusual. I even tried going there without any NPCs in the group, but still nothing. What am I missing?

Check out the Deidre's store. You need to purchase the scroll.

ugghh! i didn't have any money to buy Deidre's stuff (they're quite expensive for the start of the game), so I didn't even think of checking them out. I feel stupid. Thanks

Hey, mod sounds really cool, downside is im useless and can't find this Dark Monastery, I've got a fully evil party and bought the scroll, but i can't use it and nobody seems to be asking about it. Could you just point me in the right direction? sorry

Give the scroll to your party's Wizard. Only Wizards can use it. Click on it and it should bring up a window like a conversation. Choose the correct path (its apparent) and you'll be transported to the Monastery

I gave the scroll from Deidre to my f/m/t PC, and it's still shaded out as unusable.  Any suggested fixes?
