obviously i'm new here, i've been playing baldur's gate for a few years now and finally heard about modding communities. my modding experience doesn't extend any further that adding units and scenarios to Civilization III, but hey, I'm here to learn.

     Hello all! Midnight here--lifelong gamer and movie concierge, I find myself taking a break from worlds of warcraft of late, and dug out my old favorite, BG2.  Was surprised to see a very active & extensive modding community built around it -you can always tell a classic by the loyality it inspires.  I am not a modder myself (yet) but would like to learn.  ATM Im running through the more popular npcs and giving short reviews for the average gamer like me-those looking for an easy and fast guide on which ones are good or bad with as little fuss as possible.  I perfer to pick 1 or 2 npc mods at most to follow, and play it through twice to check for bugs, features, etc before giving a short review.  As the new guy(and non moder), Im sure ill get some chuckles from the older members, but thats ok-Im just playing bg2 to have fun and enjoy some quality new mod content and am eager to help other, newer players do the same.  I dont flame anyones work-everyone who writes new content helps the game overall, so If I dont like a mod, Ill be honest, yet offer constructive critism only .  All good/bad mods are of course my opinion only-tastes will vary.   
     I look forward to following the topics and actively participating in discusions here. Once again, kudos for all the hard work of the people who made this website possible and the modding community in general.

I've always loved playing Baldur's Gate ever since I was 12-13 years old (I remember my first fight with an Ankheg, it didn't go well), long before MMORPGs were invented. I downloaded tools from TeamBG 10 years ago and tinkered around with in-game entities such as items, BAM files, creatures, and characters. After awhile, I played numerous other games, got addicted to assembly hacking and eventually forgot about Baldur's Gate until now.

After finding the exact tools I needed to continue making my mod, I felt like crying. This place is perfect!

Have been an ardent D&D player all my
life & absolutly love BG/SOA/TB, recently
installed Darkest Day & am enjoying a
campaign, but am now stuck! HELP!!!

Am at the "Transformation & The Dream"
stage but CANNOT get Bhaal to follow
me into Candlekeep - unable to progress!
