D_G If you haven't already tried it, you should think about installing the BG1 NPC Project, I won't play BG without it.  :)

Installed IWD at made a party. Well, not entirely made, the leader of the party is a ranger which was created previously and saved.
Initially my intention was to make another all females party, but after getting an amazing number of attributes on my bard, I decided to make her an archer and took a male dwarf fighter/thief in the party with crossbows.
Here are the links to the screenshots (posting 6 screenshots on this post might be a bit too much) for every one of them:
Leader of the party, half-elf ranger using two handed swords and bows, if the need arises. Favorite enemy: Giants.

Human Paladin using long swords&bastard swords.

Half-elf cleric/mage with an amazing number of attributes. I was simply amazed how I could get her to this with only 4 re-rolls. Using blunt weapons.

Dwarf fighter/thief using crossbows and throwing axes (or simple axes if he needs to go melee).

Elven enchanter. Main spellcaster. Having no evocation spells is not that much of a setback since I also have a bard and a cleric/mage for those. Using slings.

Half-elf Bard with an amazing build. Using bows.

That was some stats, Redrake.
But I usually get good rolls at my Ranger. Icewind Dale is (I think) more carefree when it comes to stats.
In BGII, I had to roll about 40 times to get 18, 15, 18, 12, 10, 15.

Rangers get the best stats, it's their main advantage. And half-elves get even more than humans or elves, because the have higher minimum stats.

First, I'll play and end it without mods, just for reliving good old memories... ;D

My IWD 2 party just landed in Kuldahar :lilly
I don't know how will I survive the most boring part of the game (Dragon's Eye)  ::)
Evil hidden everywhere
Evil has a chilling stare
Null and void of any care
Is where the answer lies
It does no good to beg or cry
It does no good to question why
It does no good it never dies
Evil never dies

I had to restart my last IWD2 game as I really wasn't getting on with the party combination ... I am however much more positive about this little group.

They're just about to "reclaim" Emma's moonblade, although they haven't quite deceided whether to return it to the uppity Selunite.

 The party

PC: Sikozu, CN, Tiefling, Rogue (2) Bard (1)
NPC: Rizdaer, LE, Drow, Fighter (3)
NPC: Prachi, LN, Human, Monk of the Old Order (3)
NPC: Diriel, NE, Moon Elf, Druid (4) - this guy is evil, he makes Faldorn look sweet.
NPC: Nikosh, TN, L.Halfling, Rogue (3) Enchanter (1)
NPC: Peony, CN, Rock Gnome, Illusionist (4)

You can return it and receive the same blade as a reward, along with the XP.

NPC: Prachi, LN, Human, Monk of the Old Order (6)
NPC: Diriel, NE, Moon Elf, Druid (6)
NPC: Nikosh, TN, L.Halfling, Rogue (3) Conjurer (3)
NPC: Peony, CN, Rock Gnome, Illusionist (6)

I finally got Icewind Dale II, and the first thing that annoyed me was the lack of magical weapons I experienced, while magical ranged weapons came in plenty. Thank heavens for that half-Dragons greatsword.

Currently, I'm stuck at a tic-tac-toe similar field where I have to kill enemies in a certain amout of time to claim a plate. Went fine enough, until that Ice Golem Champion decided to come along.

Time? There's no time involved. You have to kill the enemies that are summoned when you walk on a square. The more squares you walk on and monsters you kill, the better. It also has more levels, the most powerful monsters being a real challenge. Some parties might not even be able to fight them at that point in game, so it would have to wait for later.

Erm there is ... you have sixty seconds to claim each square otherwise you lose it.

Personally I found battle squares the most tedious part of the game, gods only know what the developers wre thinking, I mean as if thegame weren't hack'n'slash enough.

This run I enabled the cheat console and CTRL+Y my way through it, (its not really cheating seeing as how this run is for testing purposes), but when I play the game properly I usually have to make several trips back and forth.
