All you really need is Coran and Ajantis for that ;)

I've just been doing some playing around picking up different characters and trying them out... unfortunately I'm now more confused than ever about who I want as there seem to be so many great characters.

I am beginning to edge more toward the darkside, (mainly thanks to the endearingly insane Xzar), and am now thinking that I might not bother with a romance the first run through so I can cycle characters much more easily.

I think Faldorn will definitely have a spot though.

Xzar is great. He's a lot of fun, and has probably the best specialist mage kit, especially if you install the "identify all items" kit or have bards.

He's fun to write banters for, too.

Just before I finished for the night there was a "rest" banter between him and Shar-Teel: Warrior Princess. It was about her becoming his disciple - I nearly fell of my chair laughing.

She's surprisingly fun and if I decide to take Eldoth I'm seriously considering her too ...

For quick Shar-Teel fun, try adding all male NPCs even if you kick them out in a second. Then, firstly you'll hear her comments on joining in, and can play with her Player-Initiated dialogues, trying to praise men for their various qualities. If a man who exemplifies the opposite to the said virtue is in the party, she'll not fail to single him out.  ;)

Oh, and don't forget to try the belt of masculinity-femininity on her. She is one of two NPCs who comment on that.

Kaigan - does he have any good banters with anybody?

At the moment he's waaaay down on the list of potentials as the only thing he seems to have going for him is his minor regenerative ability.

He has a minor quest that is rebuilt/expanded, and some good stuff if you put Yeslick in the party too. Like Viconia and Ajantis, if you manage to keep both dwarves in the same party without one or the other leaving at some point in time they will most likely fall into a true drawing-blood fight to the death. It takes some serious PC manipulation to keep from trying to kill eachother and then leaving, if you let it get that far.

The most fun thing about The BG1 NPC Project is also the most frustrating for thoise of us who want to see everything all at once, like me... there are lots of opportunities for new experiences, and even if you play with a different party composition or rotate some NPCs out, you will still stumble across new things each game. You really have to play hundreds of games with different combinations to see almost everything. Even then you may not see everything - some PID responses, for example, have random number assignment, so you may have any one of several responses for a single situation. It is a big, big, big project...

Yes ... I want to see it all.  :'(

I think Bioware should have given me at least five more character slots.  >:(

Evil has a chilling stare
Null and void of any care

It does no good to beg or cry
It does no good to question why

 For BG2 perhaps ...
For BG where there are double the number of NPCs to choose from - I need more than 6
For BGTutu + Sword Coast Strategems I need an army facing legions of kobolds with 6 characters is just too much.

I want more than 6 just to hear them chatter.

Seriously, though, those kobolds are tough! And only worth 7 xp apiece!

Tell me about, Xzar was still level one and had 4 HP, which meant instant death at the mere sight of a kobold commando.

When I start playing seriously I'm goning to make sure I do as many of the side-quests as possible to gain a few levels.

I don't see a reason why I should share all those XP points to more then 6 characters :P
