Traditional (in need of colour) Portraits - MALES
« on: January 06, 2006, 02:26:01 PM »
All of these are either still in graphite / are sketches / are just inked and need some colour put on them.

Unfinished (in desperate need of some colour, poor love!) male half orc.

Male drow profile

Hairy male Dwarf - inked but not coloured (probbably in need of proper painting rather than just the lineart being filled in to lose the obviously 'cartoonish' edge)

Male drow, posing ;-)

*very* rough male human fighter-type sketch.

The drows and the half-orc are awesome!
I hope there's not a problem with simply posting a compliment. >.<''

Compliments are nice ( :D :D thank you! :D :D ), but these aren't really ready to be used as portraits yet! Any suggestions for colour schemes etc?

The half-orc is very, very nice, though I would suggest bushier, more over-hanging brows that do not arch quite so prettily and a few warts or scars. That will give him more toughness, and imo won't distuct from the attractiveness. :)

 I agree - I drew this chap quite a long time ago, and he needs some extensive work done on him. I'm actually quite looking forward to colouring him - I think I'm going to go for a light browny greenish skin tone (not too green - his orc heritage is obvious, but not that obvious!) and balck hair... do you think that sounds about right? I also thought about putting some very faint skin-mottling on his cheeks (near his hair-line) and temples.

Seems excellent to me!
The earring and piercing could look nice in a copper-like tone, maybe? :? I say copper to not give him a luxurius look.
I don't know about the color of the eyes, though. Black may give him a much-too orc appearance.

It will be neat, I am positive. Now, I just have to seduce you into drawing an arabic looking veiled aazimar sorcerer, which is about the toughest to find portrait ever....

*sigh* Posing drow.......

I am *not* obsessed!! Avert your stares!

Seriously though, it is awesome.  I can't tell you how annoyed I've gotten after looking through gods-know-how-many drow portraits (male and female) only to find they have this really awkward looking poo-brown coloration instead of actual ebony.  You've hit the nail on the head (blasted cliches!)  Good job, Elysia!  \m/
You will bow before the new Solaufein Flirt Pack!

...You see, I seem to have written this fanfic and...well....erm...It would rock my world if somebody would, you know...read it.
