Just a short n' sweet one - what Cromwell the Dwarf's ref in IE? I need to find his dialogues and I am getting rather impatient constantly scrolling through umteen names. Silly me, I looked under C (for Cromwell), D (for Docks and Dwarf), B (for blacksmith), W (for weaponsmith) and I still can't find him. Most frustrating!

I am.

Perhaps I should not, but that is not for you to decide.

Using NI, I think...

A good place to find any DLG is to find the CRE.
A good place to find any CRE is in the ARE file :)

The other good place is to look up Creature Finder. :) Just search the game-given name, the one that's given when you press the TAB button and put the mouse over the CRE.

Definitely the best way to go.  There are a lot of Bodhi and Irenicus CREs and each has a different obscurely named dialogue file :P

The Creature Finder is part of NI features.. but too bad NI and Miss E don't get along ^^;;

Alternatively, use ShadowKeeper to find the name of the CRE. Then you'll know which bizarrely-named CRE is what character.

I usually use DLTCEP for this, editing creatures. Not very reliable when looking up a Bodhi or Irenicus one (use another mod or the area for that), but handy when looking for things like Cromwell.

I use IE for browsing dialogues etc but alas it doesn't have a creature finder.  Also, IE doesn't show as much detail about the CRE file as NI does.

It is slightly annoying that IE doesn't have that feature. I do use NI if things get really frustrating, but NI seems to make my computer crash (*shrugs* I don't know why, it just does. There again, I have so many odd little things on my PC that I have NO IDEA what programs I'm running at any one time. Being married to a computer engineer can be a pain sometimes... he keeps adding things I don't understand to my PC to 'make it better' (all manner of virus checkers, anti spy-bot stuff, adaware, ad blockers, 'unsafe locations' blockers... you name it, I've got a program with a stupid acronym on it installed somewhere... Bless. :/ ). It's obne of these programs that is preventing me from running Torment, but I fear it would take me the best part of a month to figure out which one.

Browsing dialogues in IE can be very helpful, though. Sometimes you come across something that actually inspires you to write interjections :) I like it when things like that happen!

Yeah, I generally use IE for dialogue, finding the right animations, finding something on an area file and looking at scripts. For looking at CRE files I use DLTCEP. Iíve become quite used to making spells, items and changing creatures with that program, so I hardly use NI anymore. :-D
