Tsujatha Melalor Romance / Tsujatha Fanart
« on: August 23, 2005, 12:42:07 PM »
So, I decided to do a little bit of Tsujatha fanart a few days (or weeks, I forget) ago.

The first is a sketch where I subjected poor Tsujatha to my feminine-guy style a bit (though to be fair he doesn't have it as badly as some of the males I've drawn). I also switched his robe colours around, because if the primary colour was black you wouldn't be able to see his hair very well.

And the second is the former sketch (or part of it, because I'm lazy like that) coloured! Here is the unsketch. I did have a smaller version uploaded, but I think the slightly bigger one looks a little better, so I changed it to the bigger one.

Soyep, that's the Tsujatha fanart that I've done  :)

I always end up referring to him as Tsuey (which for some reason makes me think of chewy... {not star wars chewy} ).

I agree, a reaction to such nicknames would be a must see.

Considering Tsujathas character, I'd have to say looking at the ending (where you stay with him) from his point of view, its one of the best endings he could have. I mean, considering how devoted he is to Charname, is Charname were to die first there just wouldn't be much left for him. But to die saving Charname, and to be with her when he dies, I can't really think of any better ending from his point of view.

Also having read the first book now...

I can understand why he goes for the good alignment characters. That being said I'd still like to be able to show that my neutral character is interested in him, even if he isn't interested back (could spark off something about unrequited love? ). It'd certainly be a challenge.

Tsujatha Melalor Romance / Umm, help, might be a spoiler.

Ahh, nuh-uh.

You know when people usually get abducted by Bodhi? When you enter the graveyard dist. to sack the vampire nest the second time. That's when Tsujathas different reaction to Bodhi should come in, just as she talks to you when you enter the graveyard.

So if it didn't happen at that point then there's something wrong. It might be that your romance with him isn't up to 2, or you might have to keep reloading until it does it, or it might be something completely different.

Heh, I got Kelsey to join me just so I could see Tsujatha get jealous about it, and he did his jealous talk right after Kelsey joined. Man he gets jealous quick :P (not that I mind! It means I didn't have to put up with several characters all trying to start romances).

Woohoo! We have a perhaps on more dialog! A perhaps is always better than a flat out 'no'.

Minarvia: I'm not sure whether the NPCs will check for your alignment/race only when they join you or every time they talk to you. I guess there might be a way to alter what they will and won't accept. Though if you want to romance them individually I'd say perhaps try a multiplayer game, and keep switching characters to whatever goes with the NPC (and bump your xp up to the right amount with the cheat console) though that would really let you do one at a time still. The concurrent romance thing should let you romance several NPCs, but I don't know about anything to alter what the NPCs will and won't accept.

I know what you mean with not knowing where to post stuff, too ^^;

For instance! I have a sketch, and an unsketch that I did of Tsujatha. Fanart in other words, and I had no idea where to put them, short of making a new topic. (and I'm cautious about making new topics)

Hopefully Sillara will forgive our off-topic ways.

I admit I have to agree with that. I mean when you marry someone, and vow to be with them forever, becoming a goddess puts a bit of distance between you. (It would also mean that Charname would outlive him, [unless another god tried to kill her off] whereas normally as a human he'd outlive Charname, and I'm not sure how long the elves live.)

I guess Charname could do it with the intention of keeping him with her, but to actually do so would probably be difficult. And no matter what she did, it's very likely that she wouldn't be able to make him a god. So he'd either have a limited lifespan or he'd just end up feeling very useless seeing as he'd be powerless to do a whole lot to help Charname.

Though I wonder, if Charname became a goddess, would she have the power to save Tsujatha from an unfortunate afterlife?

And I really did enjoy the way if you do become a goddess, Charname does still care for Tsujatha. I guess it's up to the player to imagine what happens to them afterlife-wise in the non-godly ending.

**End spoiler**

And now to make an actual suggestion in this post instead of just ramblings ^^;

Does Tsujatha ever make any comments on the race of the main character? Because that might be interesting. I recall him commenting on Mazzy being a halfling, Jaheira a half-elf, Korgan a dwarf etc. Since Charname is the first character of your group that he meets perhaps he might have something to say. (heh, if Charname is an elf he might hassle her about how short she is! )

Ah, I just realized I should have made my previous post in here instead of a new topic. D’oh! Oh well.

Good news is I just ordered the books, yay!

I have to agree with more Tsujatha-initiated flirts, I just can’t get enough of this character. And I think someone suggested something about Phaere wanting to ‘borrow’ Tsujatha, I think that seems a good idea, and makes a nice female version of how a main character can affect his relationship by sleeping with Phaere. Also I too thought it odd that Tsujatha said nothing when Sarevok showed up in ToB… Considering the way he reacts when you tell him about Sarevok, I would have thought that he would be a) angry at him, or b) maybe seeing this as a chance to be able to do something for CHARNAME, or at least be fairly unhappy about what Sarevok was asking for.

Sortof on that note I also don’t recall Tsujatha saying anything to Irenicus when you pop back up in his lab with all the mad wizards. I think Imoen gets to say something, and if he’s romancing CHARNAME I would have thought that he would say something too.

And I do agree with vera_kdt about the goddess thing, I chose to tell him that I didn’t want to become a goddess, but I do recall the other options saying that even if you became a goddess you’d still want to keep him by your side or something. So I agree that this wouldn’t quite gel with him having such a strong reaction to you becoming a goddess if you hadn’t told him that you wouldn’t become one.

Someone might have mentioned this as well, but I also think it would be nice to have more chances to stop Tsujatha from doing things, or making him think about things. Like the way you can stop him from killing those involved in his quest, though I can’t really think of any other conflicts that he has.

Oops here I am being wordy again, sorry about that.

I saw of course that Tsujatha only likes characters of a good alignment, so when I added him in I made my main character good. (And I absolutely love how this mod is done, he has the attractiveness of Solaufein without all the philosophy and the action of Kelsey without the college-kid feel and whining, plus he doesn't skip out on the good bits. Not to mention his personality is just wonderful, I really have to get those books now.)

But the thing is, I normally play a character with a neutral alignment (I love my neutralness, used to like true neutral the most, but now chaotic neutral is my fav alignment).

So, I know that he only likes good characters, but he does seem to get along fine with someone like Jaheira (though despite her true neutral alignment she sways toward good)

It got me thinking, a lot of the time you have to wait for the characters to talk to you, you don't really get a choice, just anyone who can romance you will try to. You then get to choose whichever one you like best. But what if YOUR character was interested in another character who might not be interested in you?

I know it would probably be a pain to add into a mod, but I figured I'd just suggest it anyway. I mean, how would Tsujatha react to someone making advances on him? Either an evil or neutral character, they could either be doing it just to try and get him into bed, or they could be doing it because they really do like him.

Gosh that was a long way to go about explaining it. Another thing I would have liked are conversations with the NPCs (with either the player or Tsujatha) about the romance. They surely see how differently he acts around the main character and how his behaviour changes. Though I'm not sure whether it could be done, I think it would be neat if they comments and questioned him or you about this.

So to end this monster of a post, Tsujatha is certainly the best romance I've tried in BG2, I guess my suggestions are really due to greed, wanting more Tsujatha dialog or interactions. (not that there isn't already enough, but, greedy, yeah)
