Noobers Dwarven Hammer / Re: Introduce Yourself!
« on: March 06, 2007, 02:35:27 PM »
I do not think I have introduced myself yet.

I am Rivvie.  I am not Bob or Timmy or Carolyne or.. anyone else. Just Rivvie.   :D

I am generally hyper, friendly, and always seem to jump to the extreme worst case scenario in most situations.  In short, combine Imoen's general temperament with Xan's pessimism and that's me.  It should break some rules of reality, but for some reason it does not.  I am positively negative.  ;D

Noobers Dwarven Hammer / Re: Your Nick Name
« on: March 06, 2007, 02:26:16 PM »
Read the Sola fanfic with the elf named Rivian in it, and I liked it a lot, so for a while I had a 'Rivian' pc.  Got to thinking that that was kind of cheating, it was taking another person's nice thought out name.. but I liked the nickname (Rivvie), and I just happen to own a game called Riviera: The Promised Land.. so Riviera was born!

I liked the name a lot, and I like the game a lot, so I decided to use it as my forum handle.

Mod Room / Re: Favorite Mod NPCs

1. Xan (I've been a Xan fan since the first time I played unmodded BG1, and heard him say, "I thank you for my freedom, friend, for I have languished in these dismal vaults for too long.." Ah, Xan.)  :wub

a very, very close second.
2. Kivan (Oddly enough, I never had him in my group in bg1, not even after the bg1 npc project. It took getting his bg2 incarnation for me to finally get curious enough to try him out in bg1 too. He is quite excellant, in a romance or not.)  :lilly

3. Solaufein (He just has so much potential, and his philisophical questions really made me think.  I've always been the sort that likes to pick apart things and discuss different meanings and ways of thinking.. so he was always enjoyable.)

Honorable mentions: Saerileth (such a sweet girl, and a smashing friend for my female pc), Tashia (her riddles are great!), Jasper St. Baird (He does too count!  ;D)

I honestly thought I responded to this already.. oh well.

Xan (even unmodded, his soundset would make me giggle. maybe it's just me. plus i have a tendency to have a happy negative outlook, "Well, look at it this way, it could always be worse!")

Minsc (Soundset was SO GREAT)

Garrick ("Once more unto the breach, dear friends!" was a great line)

I didn't have Kivan or Coran or the rest in the group much at all back when I played BG1 without mods, so I'm not so sure how they'd be sans BG1 Project.  :lilly

Ye Gate House / Re: How many times you played BG2?
« on: February 27, 2007, 05:00:29 PM »
BG1 (through BGT) = twice

BG2: SoA = four times
BG2: ToB = twice

Not really that many, but I've done a lot of partial runs to see a particular romance, or I would be playing and lose interest in that particular party configuration and start another run.

My problem is that I sometimes get overwelmed with the amount of stuff there is to do (especially considering all the quest mods out there), and I have so little extra time outside of school and work now  ;D

Noobers Dwarven Hammer / Re: Which type of sword are you?
« on: February 27, 2007, 12:46:39 PM »
You are the Epee, a narrow, round, double-or-triple-edged French sword with a bowl-shaped guard used for dueling and fencing.
You are silly and have a great sense of humor. You are often laughed at for almost anything you do, even if it isnt funny. You tend to be a bit difficult to take seriously, but you dont mind. Youre not often serious, anyways. You have a very positive outlook on everything and are generally a happy person. Go you!

Go me!

Noobers Dwarven Hammer / Re: What's Your Alignment?
« on: February 08, 2007, 05:58:27 PM »
Yep, just as usual..

Neutral Good

A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. The common phrase for neutral good is "true good." Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias toward or against order.

I get Chaotic Good on a bad day, though.  ;D

I never play BG without installing BGT anymore. :)

I just recently made a BP-BGT install with CtB, TS, DSotSC and NSotSC.. and it's gone swimmingly.  I did not install the chores part, however.. XD

More quests are good, more class specific quests are also good, and the DS NPCs seem nice as well.

I almost always play an elf, but rarely (twice out of twelve runs) I do play a half-elf.

Yeeep.  :D

When I get a place that is pet-friendly, I'm going to get a yellow kitty and name him/her.. Butter. As lame as that is.

NPC Interaction Expansion Pack for BG2 / Aerie's Baby
« on: October 19, 2006, 04:34:07 PM »
That *is* true..

If they implied pregnancy in the lovetalks, and brought it up in game a bit, than people never actually saw the result.. they might have assumed that there was a bug somewhere. At least until they got to the epilogue.

Usually by the end of the romance, you've seen everything that has been brought up in the romance neatly tied up and completed.
