Athkatlan Expansion / Re: Screenshot Thread [SPOILERS]

Looks awesome.

And you said it, the worst thing about the Promenade is that it's so crowded. Passageways, climbs, cages and other objects in your way, specially at night, when one is hunting vampires.

NWN, maybe not as much playing as toying with the toolset. Thank God for hakpacks. Trying to create a Dark Age mod.

When not doing that, Fire Emblem.

Indeed a good noble is a dead noble.  I don't know what's with the ones in the Gov't Dist either.  I never talk to them but there are always standing around close to where the begger approaches you at night but they are there during the day I think.
Oh, I think I know the nobleman you're mentioning. Ain't that the same one who thinks they needs more people like Minsc on the council? I like that guy.  ;D Would be a shame to kill him.. but business is business, I guess.

Clearing a path through Yaga Shura's followers to get to him inside the city walls would be great.  It just depends on some nice area art for it to work well.
This. Totally this. Having to fight through his army on the outside, then heading into the ruins of Saradush and fight Yaga-Shura himself (and whatever minions that might be waiting in there) would be an awesome twist of battle.  :lilly

Alexia Not at all, I would have asked you the same question myself. Well may the best hunter win, lets get to it.

Yoshimo (Yoshimo smiles nervously.) Right behind you.
Wow! Does she have a reaction to this comment, too?

A hunter who's right behind you is *very* bad news.  ;D

The Undying / Re: Alexia: Another NPC Idea

Well, consider my interest up and going. (My, I haven't visited this sight for a long time  :o )
I'm normally not a fan of NPC's that only lasts through Amn (sorry Yoshimo), but the Assassin is my favored thief kit, and when it gets handed to me in the form of a NPC, it's tough to resist.

Though I wonder if you might change your mind in the last moment, if she's redeemed, that is, would she still leave to start a new life, or would she continue with the party? (they'll visit the desert, after all).

Any way, cool idea. I'll be watching this mod.

Redeeming NPC's are always interesting, and an assassin, no less. I'd say go for it.  :)

Hindo's Doom +4 - 10% MR
Sword of Balduran +2 - 10% MR
Kaligun's Amulet of Magic Resistance - 10% MR
Machine of Lum the Mad - 5% MR
Purifier +4 - 30% MR (must be LG to obtain, only usable by Paladins)
Robe of Vecna - 5%
Robe of the ____ Archmagi - 5%
Ring of Gaxx - 10%

Once, I played as a fighter/thief with a greatsword profiency.
Once you get the UAI Ability, you can add Carsomyr to your list - along with Kaligun's Amulet, Lums Machine, Vecnas Robe and the Gaxx Ring.

All of this should give you atleast 80% MR. Hm, gotta try that myself.

Ye Gate House / Re: Favorite Weapon

Well, I've finally learned to create my own weapons (the Snail is finally over the goalline), and so I have tried to create powerful weapons without making the battles too simple. Maybe I overdid it a little, though.

The strongest weapon so far must be a sword +5, causes +1 cold damage, dispels magic upon hit and gives one extra attack as well as 20 resistance to cold damage. Once I dreamed about creating a mod where you faced a group of powerful NPC's and this weapon was to be one of the rewards.

The other favorite weapon of mine is a sword (I like long swords) who protects from fear, sometimes heals the wielder upon hit (ala Blackrazor, though not as much HP gain), and has a 1% chance to unleash a Chain Lightning spell.

I never use Anomen for healing except after battles as he's almost always at the front if he's in my party.  Jaheira I used to use for a secondary fighter and an in-battle healer.  However, this play-through, I don't have an extra fighter, so Jaheira has been forced to step into that role and I'm finally finding out how effective she can actually be up there.

So my choice would be Jaheira for more versatility.
I seriously underestimated Jaheira when I first played through an entire game with her. She starts as a support, keeping those who might get past CHARNAME and Minsc busy before they can reach Aerie. After a Dragon and Spellhold, she can hold her own against anything but a Improved Pit Fiend and a Lich. Now, Anomen can cause decent damage with Crom Faeyr or Flail of Ages, but he cannot compete against Jaheira with full points in scimitar and fully armed. In my humble opinion, that is. ;D

Jaheira's cons: You can't give her heavy armor, she can't make vampires explode, and some find her personality abrasive
You can't? Do you mean due to her strength or the druid restrictions? I always gives her a full plate +1 and then the red dragon plate. Then again, they're not as heavy as the normal armors.

Or maybe I have a mod somewhere which allows this..  ???

Jaheira with a full five in Scimitar or Club profiency is a real terror, specially on later levels, when she has her high-level druid spells along with greater whirlwind attacks. Anomen is good for those easy-to-hit foes, as far as I know. For some reason, I don't keep him in my party for long.

So I say Jaheira all the way.

Ye Gate House / Re: Why Are You Still Playing?
« on: May 18, 2008, 10:46:33 AM »
I play because I still find it fun (the mods are no small part of that, though) to put together a group of NPCs and try to survive without ever losing someone. And I'm sure there is at least one or two conversations I have yet to hear since I haven't dared to have Aerie/Korgan or Viconia/Valygar in the same group past the first insults.

And sometimes I just create a team and play it for a while, just to see how it goes. It's a part-time hobby.  :-[

It feels weird to know that time affects us who appreciate the mods and plays them.  :D
But it does.

Ye Gate House / Re: Favorite Medium Level Arcane Spells

Level 4

Fire Shield: Red - I like the fire spells.
Spider Spawn: 2-3 Sword Spiders are good if you're facing both Demons and scrap.
Stoneskin: Goes without saying, really.

Defensive Harmony - A priest is all about the Defensive, and this is one of the best.

Level 5

Breach: Stoneskins worst enemy.
Sunfire: Devastating, lure them all towards you, prepare, wait, laugh evilly and FIRE!
Shadow Door: Very fun if you're a thief/mage or fighter/thief/mage.

Flame Strike - Did someone say defensive? This spell gets rid of most things, Trolls beware.

Level 6

Chain Lightning: One of the most awesome spells there is. Unleash three of those babies at once.
PFMW - The Improved Pit Fiends worst enemy, along with True Sight.
True Sight - The best anti-illusion spell there is.

Blade Barrier - Cut them, and cut them, and HURT them!
