TeamBG's Weapon Pack v1.03

Information:

This is the second installation of the "pack" mods that I will be making for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. This mod is an weapon pack. There is a dwarf, Maltz, located outside of the Friendly Arm Inn who will
sell you these weapons. Some of the weapons are color variations of what you find in the game, some from BG2 and some of them are new. The magical weapons are expensive so you will have to save a lot of gold to buy them.

To Install:
At the moment the Weidu installer semi-works with BG:EE.
Unzip the mod to your 00766 folder.
Make a backup of your chitin key and your dialog.tlk (lang\en_US) Only in
English at the moment.
Take your dialog.tlk and place it in your 00766 folder.
Double click the SETUP-BGeeW application.
Follow the install instruction from that.
Now that is done place your dialog.tlk file back under your lang\en_US folder
Play the game and enjoy.
*Make sure you have an override folder or create one.

To Install (For BGT, Tutu):
Unzip the mod to your game folder.
Make a backup of your chitin key and your dialog.tlk
Double click the SETUP-BGeeW application.
Follow the install instruction from that.
Play the game and enjoy.

Removed the usability flags since its redundant in BG:EE

V1.02 4/28/13
Removed the line to install non-existent BAMs from the TP2 file.

V1.01 1/9/13
Fixed the Dwarven Thrower Thac0 which was at +3 when it shouuld be +2
Fixed the text of the Ninja-To +2. It said it was +1 when it is a +2 weapon.
New cross platform for BG:EE, BGT and Tutu

No problems with installation. Great job and very nice selection of weapons!! It's nice to see some other weapon types get some love and this really helps fill in a big hole in BG1 imo...

I'll note any issues I find below and edit in any new ones to this same post:

--The Dwarven Thrower +2 has a THACO of +3 in its description... is this correct?
--Ninja-To +2 has a THACO of +1 and it looks like only +1 for damage also... (note: the pricing looks like it's for a +1 weapon)... Okay, bought it and equipped it. Appears to be +2 THACO and damage so description is off for sure...

Interesting note: There exists another Maltz's weapon shop in Baldur's Gate (see x=1180, y=2980, Area=AR0800). Though that Maltz appears to be a fat human merchant doing business in his living room... :)

The Dwarven Thrower should be a +2 THAC0, the item is set to 3 which means I forgot to change it.
Ninja-To is a description error it should be +2 not +1.

Thanks for the heads up.

Maltz that must be were I heard that name before. I was going for the "tz" at the end of the name to stay with similar sounding name like Kurtz the shopkeeper of my armor mod.

New version out already. Includes the fixes above and is now playing happily with BGT and Tutu versions of the game.

Edit: oops! It looks like the Dwarven Thrower +2 is still showing a THACO of +3 in the statistics when right clicked... The Ninja-To +2 looks perfect...

I tried to install the latest version, but it is giving me an error regarding missing 'bams'.  The '\bams\' directory doesn't  seem to exist in the extracted download for me.  The debug file (renamed to txt) is attached.

Hey this looks like a great mod! I'm new to the whole process though and am having trouble getting it to download. Can you give me any advice? I know I have the Weidu installed correctly, but how do I get your mod to work with it? Thanks!

Any solutions? Because I'm very keen on trying out this mod. Maybe I should also add that the Armor Pack works without any problems. I'm sure I downloaded the right file and unzipped it correctly. Everything went fine with the other mod, so there seems to be something wrong with this one, not necessarily my game, right?

Well its an empty folder. Try deleting that line in the TP2 file, save and try again. COPY ~BGeeW/bams~ ~override~

I don't ever recall an empty folder causing problems.

Many thanks! Worked like a charm. :) Now I'm literally going to tear enemies apart later on in the game with that new set of weapons. :D I really appreciate your quick reply, it was extremely helpful.

For me, I right click on the zip file and select extract here. Might be different for you depending on what kind of computer you are using.

I had the same problem and i have followed your instruction, but it didn't work.
So i decided to see the .tp2 file of the Armor Pack(it works) and i saw that the line wasn't "COPY ~BGeeW/bams/~ ~override~" but
"COPY ~BGeeW/bams~ ~override~" and the same for the line "COPY ~BGeeW/wav~ ~override~".
I modified the lines like the Armor Pack and now it works.
Is it possible that the problem is caused by the fact that i have the Steam version?

PS: Awsome weapons...now Dorn can cause a lot of pain with these new weapons...thanks.

I seem to be stuck opening the file as a wordpad, which seems to be un-extractable. Anything I can do to get around this, ie. is there a different program I can use?

I still got an error in the weidu loader for the weapons mart, in both beamdog and steam versions (thanks to my brother).  Fiddling around with both of our games, it seems that we are both having problems Wmart, the armor pack and the weapons pack because while the creatures load, they are riddled with missing strings for most of the items (with only a few original BG items, like fallidorns plate, remaining intact).  Most of the Joluv and Dedriee items are missing strings as well (the sensate amulet title was intact, but not the item description).

Plus, the only way I got the original weapons mod to install at all was to delete the

COPY ~BGeeW/wav/~ ~override~

line in the tp2 file for the mod.  Otherwise, I still got an error when trying to load the mod.

Also, I'd advise not equipping the shopkeepers with super magical arms and armor, because you don't want your players a CTRL+Y away from full plate mail + 3 for free.  If you want to make munchkins of them, give them 25 str, dex, and con but give them regular arms and armor.  It will more than make up the difference.

Okay I deleted the / behind wav and it installed fine. You can do that in the TP2 or download the file again which includes that fix.

Jumbled text - did you place the dialog.tlk back in your language folder according to the install instructions?

I don't see an override folder in your game directory. Make an override folder.

Ah I see your game is Steam and not Beamdog. Their file structure may be different. But create the Override folder there and see what happens.

Am I doing something wrong in trying to set this up?  I really don't understand how to use WeiDu or to successfully set up mods for BG1EE.  I have followed all the instructions listed to the best of my ability, but I still dont see the vendors at Friendly Arms Inn for the weapons and armor.  Are they possible character level or chapter related?

I am playing in Windows 7.  What else do you need and how do I get it?

p.s. Disregard the previous question....I was able to play around and get it to work.  Don't know what I did to make the npc's show up but I found them finally.

There is a bug with Blade of Roses from this mod, at least in easy Tutu. It doesn't give +2 CHA bonus.
