Finished Charsi's background dialogs.

This mod will actually have substance and not be one dimensional hack n slash. With the new content if you dialog with some of the key characters, they may share some background on themselves or the events surrounding their lives.

If your character was a dwarf, how would they treat you? Like an outsider. It doesn't matter what race you are. At least with the commoner dwarves. The king on the other hand has been to the surface and was an adventurer in his youth. The common dwarf doesn't get out much and what outsiders they interact with are the occasional merchant caravans that stop there.

Oh, side projects?  Well, then it's easy to see why you get distracted.  But you stick with something and finish it, which is more than many modders do, even if it takes time.  And the work you've already done with The Undying and Vampire Tales is admirable and fun.

Worked on items. Yeah I'm using some Icewind Dale items. I had to fix some of them so they work in BG2, boring stuff like proficiencies, correct spells being used, etc.

I love area editing and I hate it. I hate it because of the garbage editing tools that we have to use and the game crashes that don't tell you why it crashed. Which means you have to go through ever little detail in that area to see why it crashed. Animations? Sounds? Corrupt TIS and/or WED files?

Progress. I started a multiplayer game and created their NPC files.

This is version 1 of Shi'nayne who looks like a mage and she will be equipped with mage robes and a staff.

Version 2 or option 2 will have her use a "fighter" paper doll where she will wear elven chainmail. This will make her look more like a war wizard.

Looking forward to it-been awhile since I was by(got distracted by WoW's Cataclysm release but BG2 is always aces in my book still--every once in awhile I still love to load up a game with Saerileth and a new mod toon and run around causing havok :P.   I got to play with Calisto and Ninafer awhile back and enjoyed em both--looking forward to seeing new content though.  I dont have any programing skills but if ya need any feedback or test plays-just let me know.

I might try Undying, as I am playing BG2 right now. However, I am playing an evil party, with an evil assassin and I do need a cleric, like Viconia. So, the 2 NPCs from Undying are out of the question for now.

My next party is going to have a cleric PC so... ;)

Something of this epic size will take a while and sadly it is past winter when I originally projected this as being done.

The new areas will contain people who will interact with you just like in real life. For instance King Stonecrusher has over 200 lines of text and only a small fraction of it deals with his quest. The rest of it deals with questions you may ask the king about his family, dwarven culture, etc.

Just tested the end game with the bosses in Encounter "Y". I'm afraid I didn't make it. But I was at a low level, while still in Irenicus' dungeon. You won't see Encounter "Y" until near the end of the SoA portion of the game. If you can beat the red and black dragons or Kangaax, then you are probably ready for this encounter.

Due to the lack of assistance and help when I've asked for it, it's a high possibility that the world map and some areas will be overwritten since my knowledge of "patching" in regards to such is very limited. Nothing will delay this mod from being released. This has been in progress long enough.

I don't know where you've asked, but if you need help with patching existing areas, I can help with that. I've only seen your request for making new areas, which is a bit beyond my artistic skill. I can design small sub-areas but even that takes a fair amount of time. However, patching existing areas for entrances etc. is fairly straightforward. I can either provide the code if you let me know what you need or point you in the right direction. Luckily, WeiDU has come a long ways in providing this sort of thing in the last couple of years (see the fj_are_struct function) - before that, it was extremely difficult to do. It will be more advantageous to your mod to patch areas rather than overwrite, in case some other mod has added content to the areas you're linking.

That's great. When I get the areas completed that will require patching, I'll give you the areas, or the coordinates or whatever you need to patch it. I'm old school modding. It took me forever to even think about Weidu, D files and BAFs. Macros and other complex stuff is out of my league.

Do you still need area art?

I need parts of the dwarven city. The lower section where most of the citizens live.

I need this area repaired (http://www.baldursgatemods.com/forums/index.php?topic=5546.msg67438#msg67438) as in the buildings.

I would be interested in lending a hand, but I'd need more particulars. Perhaps a paintover of what exactly needs changing on which of the pre-made areas, and a larger description of the interior that you need. Would the lower section be exterior caves, with dwarven houses? Or would it be more like a dwarven hall, with rooms that would be living quarters for the dwarves?

Depending on how much needs editing, it might look better to make new assets than try and salvage IWD's.

You now have access to the hidden work room for this mod. Take a look at the topic Stonecrusher Clan Story in Pictures. The picture labeled Upper City is the look I want for the lower city but much larger and not in a mess.

The interior for the picture posted above is for the top part. Its basically a barracks for a legion of dwarf soldiers.

In regards to the Ninafer and Anomen romance, one of the conditions for it is he has to be a Knight of the Order. Its one of the things that attracts her to him. If he isn't a knight, well no Nina for him.

That should be the logical conclusion of any BG2 run. :evil:

In about 2 weeks, I'll finish playing my BG1 Tutu run. If you need a tester by that time I'll be available.

Even if he's a knight (and you basically need to kick his behind to make him advance), I never would've imagined Nina's tastes could go so low. ;D

She should pick Minsc. Can't go wrong there... :paranoid:

The last two areas are classified. Still have some tweaking to do on them, especially the level before the final. It uses some complex coding which I need to tweak.

Well it was complete until that stupid Beamdog update overwrote my game directory. Now after being pissed off for a couple of months after this, I think I'll start work on this again.

6 years later.
First thing I'm doing is since this mod will be using area resources from IWD and PST, I'm going to use the EE versions of the TIS and MOS files. So time will be spent extracting those files and renaming them to the appropriate name in the mod and its a boring tedious job so far.

How fares progress on Undying?

People have worked on Icewind Dale-in-EET and have likely converted IWD 1 & 2 resources (maps, sprites, etc.) to the BG2EE engine.  I compiled resources for you here (https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/topic/31685-the-undying/?do=findComment&comment=285598).

Regardless, a seemingly simple request is to make your mod EET (Enhanced Edition Trilogy) compatible.  (Formal instructions on how to make mods EET compatible.)
