Yeh, yer old editing pal Ajoc is making a cool new (major?) quest for TDD...i will not CHANGE a kit, item and so on which is already in TDD, but i will add several new ones.

Mainly because the last guy (look down a bit) got crucified for stealing items and Deano's MiniMOD (what a tard).

I have permission from my good friends Minto and Max, as they have both declared that they will not be adding to TDD and have moved on to bigger things (Check out Tower of Iron Will and soon what Po is working on), and I need the practise on areas and so forth before I aspire to their dizzy heights, so heres the deal:

A new quest
New Items
New enemies
Probably new spells but I havent made any yet
etc. etc.

I already have 5 new areas running soundly, and a few cutscenes and sotryline is all set up (don't expect anything earth shattering!).

I do have screen shots but I can't be bothered to post them right now, I think Dean plans to do something on TEAMBG.ORG when his real news (lol) runs dry.

I am basically working on this on my own, and have been for a couple of months, and it's picking up speed due to a person I found to make cool new area graphics and a bit of basic help (not sure if i needed it but hey) from my cousin, Grand-Pas.

Also, please reply if you have a request for a balanced ite you would like to see in the game, cos my graphics gy send me an area with about 1000 barrels in and I need to fill them up somehow! And my imagination reaches limits after a few hours.

As for extra playing time, expect a few hours, no more...I am basically makithing this until I get bored with it or I feel it's really well done. There will also be a few mini-quests within mine, like fetching squirrels and picking apples (lol) and pointless things that you guys enjoy-so-much.

Anyway, this must be the longest non-copy-and-pasted post of my life, so I think I'll stop =)

SO far, I have about half an hour added, with a cool into, 5 substantial NEW areas are in (plus a few events to get the quest started in Athkatla)...several people have actually played it already (what i've done) and they liked it...

Since I didnt read everything either ( ), when is it going to be ready? Sounds great to me . Other question is will we be able to play extra parts from saved game or will we need to start over (which would be a pain in the ass...)?

ok, all you will need to do is visit the crooked crane inn (gate district) and a nice chap upstairs will send you off on the quest.

As for when it's done, no idea, maybe mid january? I am away for the christmas hols, but I am working onit on and off solidly.

As for items, i have only added a few, they are really icing on the cake but here's some examples....

(i have tried to stay balanced)
(all from memory)

Bracers of Timestopping
I think these improve a saving throw or AC a little, and allow timestop for 5 secs 1 per day
For all

Amulet of improved theivery
Pretty poor amulet, +10% to find traps and "knock" spell one per day.
for theives

I couldnt remember this one so i openned it up..
Oak Hammer +4

Damage:  1D4 + 5
Special: ID4 Crushing damage upon wielder upon hit.
+1 to THAC0 for 3 seconds upon hit.
Damage type:  Crushing
Weight: 14
Speed Factor: 4
Proficiency Type: War Hammer
Type:  1-handed
Requires: 11 Strength
Not Usable By:
Druid
Mage
Thief

Nice Hammer, 7-13 damage with more chances to hit every time you hit.
If you have a balanced spell or item, feel free to post it and i may include it, as i mentionned above

First, I was not crucified, just flamed. Second I plan on fixing it if possible. Third I had permission from every item/spell/etc creator that made some of the items in my mod except for Deano's Freedom's reign. But if you wish I can help you with your mod as modding is one of my hobbies.

well what can you help with? I am pretty self sufficicient, i can do area graphics, areas, scripts, BAMS, ITMs, SPLs, and other file types you have probably never heard of..hehe

I can send what i have done so far, as long as you dont steal it (joke)...

it's 20mb unzipped, 8mb zipped and is in IAP form, so you just import it over your TDD.

I am quite good with items, spells, etc and where do I go to get your mod so far (I only have a 4MB account so far until I can convince my parents to get me a bigger one). I wont steal your mod (i didn't mean to use FR but lets not start that again).

well i suggest you get on icq or TeamB IRC channel for file transfers...

This is a serious add on, not just modifying existing items and adding a few here and there...

If you wish to submit new items, thats fine by me, cos the bore me to death as i have been making them for around three years now!

Ideas run dry hehe

So send me IAPS with items if you want, and I will credit you. Original items only though...

I am trying to stay as solo as possible, cos teams are just rouble.

I will not be eiditng kits, npcs and so forth, the only annoying thing that will have to be added are worldmap entries.

ah, well you should have made it a bit clearer...

I work on projects like this in long seperated burts, so one saturday I will spend like 6 hours on it, assuming I  dont have any social to do, then i willnot do it for a week or two, then come back to it radically.

I also fix some small issues after school (i'm 15, from UK) if my testers report anyhting crappy, like dialogs looping and things which would generally ruin everything and make people email me stupid questions.

I actually plan to do some major populating and bringing to life of my two newest areas, which will be cool.

hehe I think i might hide little hidden things, the type of thing mis educated people call easter eggs, except easter eggs are programs within a program.

Thing is, all it takes in one funny guy to open my areas in an area editor and say oh look theres a tiny container there, whats in it...SWKILLALL.itm  hmm, could be  cool

hehe +1000 immunity to everything (tm)...then all it takes is a post on the board and Max hates me for ruinning TDD.

Since my first few ideas didn't go too well with you Ajoc, I have another. Maybe make a long sword with the 1 in 5 (or 10 maybe) chance to automatically fire magic missle upon hitting the target. Or maybe a belt that has 50 or so know alignment charges. Or maybe a good/neutral/evil spell item (amulet?) that has different spells based on the alignment of its user, and says so in it's description. I don't know, but I like the idea of more items based on your alignment.

Anyway, thanks for the chance to post my crappy ideas.

hehe the other wasnt too crappy, just the gem was similar and it suited the level of my MOD better hehe

out of those ideas, the alignment item seems cool..magic missile sword is kind of pointless, as it is short range, s you wouldnt get to see those cool pink spheres, just the pink sparks as they hit.

As for know alignment, did anyone actually properly use that spell? =)

I will give the alignment item ago, although it will be soley for Evil - neutral - good, not all 9 combinations, cos there are more important things to be getting on with =)

I'm working on a new mod, well actually its just like my old one except that Freedom's Reign has been completely remove. I have/willhave ToB spells and Items in my new mod . Just not that my new mod does NOT REQUIRE NOR IS COMPATIBLE WITH ToB, but you still get the spells and main items from ToB (I have already added Dragon's Breath, Improved Alacrity, Aura of Flaming Death, and Storm of vengence) and the animations, sound effects, etc are exactly the same as those found in ToB!

the gem of imprisonment could just cast maze with MR and save vs. spells nullified

ok belt of the demon spawn...
the half human child of a great demon was born.......
grows up to see all that is good and decides to kill daddie.....
makes himself a belt from demon skins. gets help from solars to make it.

Permentent Protection from evil.
can summon a solar once per day. (demons are powerful creatures remember)
+2 to hit and damage vs demons.
can cast remove fear 3 times a day
Not usable by:
Evil-alinged charactors

I think that is about balanced

well expect it maybe mid january/late january

i am working on the final area no,w but it's a big one and there isthe final battle, cutscene, stupid ammount of treasure, and so forth....

+ RAM problems not helping...

thanks for the ideas, demon belt looks better i'll do it but without the solar...

as to  deimos....why not make original stuff instead of robbing TOB and FR (good you removed that btw)

i think it may be fr download on this site, but external is a possibility. It will install by simply duble clicking on the file, which uses IAP SFX technology (heheheh, see teambg.com)

Ajoc, a good portion of the items adn spells in my mod were created by me, but since we can't install ToB while TDD in installed I thought that while we wait for the compatibility patch that I would add the ToB items and spells and also add a few Icewind Dale items that Max and Minto either missed or purposely left them out.

How about a few specific-class-specific items? Ones that improve upon the class' specific abilities. Take for instance Conjurors. You could make an item that gives bonuses to summoned  monsters and familiars, but the item only works for Conjurors. Certainly don't make items for all kits, but items for some (maybe some tDD kits?) would be cool. Hey, maybe some gender specific items, too (Amazon?).

Well I was thinkin (just thinking into the blue, about a few random objects you could put into your patch)
Well we all know of the staff mace or staff spear, what about the staff sword, or staff bow. (Just thinkin)
Or maybe a special sword for assassins (I know the backstabbing sword) but a sword that is like +6 and can do shadow door twice a day. Disadventges maybe like you have to be evil, or certin number of skills in hde in shadows.
And last weapon for today is a weapon that is real powerful (like can do Finger of Death twice a day, Shadow Door Four times, Visisons of Pain (if TDD) twice a day, and on top of that it is a +9) disadvantges get 1 charisma when held, and lose hit points when you hit, and only usable by evil(wonder why). Call it Ugly Death

In Throne of Bhaal the most powerful item enchantment is +6.
Ajoc I think you should make a few class specific items (there are quite a few in ToB) as long as you make it fair (like one class specific item per class).

It will be copatible with any BG2 Shadows Of Amn, which has the darkest day installed. It will be compatible with other minimods aslong as they dont change the following in the darkest day:

The World Map
The Gate District area SCRIPT
The GOvernment District area SCRIPT
AR0042.ARE and AR0042.BSC should not be chqnged for compatibility
SPELL.IDS

All the rest is purely qdded, so there is no chance ofoverwriting eachother UNLESS they use the same file name as me.  I always put AG****** as a naming code


Otherwise, if this is enjoyed it will most certainly do a few modifications for it to zork zith the ToB version of TDD.

Items?

How about a "fireshield" shield?  Or an "icelance" icelance?  Some missile weapons other than shortbows with unlimited arrows?  Sammy Sosa's Slugger, a bat which gives you 3 swings per round?

How about some of the items from the Lord of the Rings, such as Gandalf's Staff, Frodo's Sting or Mithril Armor, the 3 elven rings, the RING itself, etc.?

How about an 'eye' item which you throw at your opponent, and, BEHOLD, a BEHOLDER!  And remember the pocket dragon in the Dragonlance Chronicles?

How about boots of backstabbing where every attack is a backstab?  Okay, that would be too powerful.

Let's see, how about some more items specific to the new TDD
kits?

Anyway, this is what I have off the top of my head....

There is a arrow that you can download at a bg2 customization site (several actually) that spawns a goblin (friendly?) right next to the creature you hit. Its quite interesting.

They had those arrows in Heart of Winter as well (the expansion for Icewind Dale)...Goblin Arrows...when they hit they summoned a goblin right next to whoever u hit (and yes he was friendly.same deal as a summon spell)...not sure if there was a time limit on them as HOW was rather high level and dropping a goblin next to a Frost giant resulted in a dead goblin the next round

Well here's my list of suggestions :

A great sword that summons a dead paladin once per day

Any ability given to people who have the thieves guild to summon 2 shadow thieves to aid you

A Priest of Bhaal

An improved version of Entreri's dagger with a 15 percent chance on hit each that the target will be permenantly drain of 7 HP
